Building a future working life where digitalization serves people—not the other way around.

DILEC’s mission is to build a future working life through research, where digital and AI solutions support employee participation, well-being, and business productivity. Our goal is to ensure that digitalization strengthens employees’ roles in workplace development and company success.

The project aims to provide companies with a research-based, concrete, and tested operational model that makes digital transformation genuinely employee-centered. The model includes practical tools to improve leadership, streamline processes, and increase productivity—while also supporting employee well-being and engagement. Through international collaboration, we bring global best practices to Finnish companies, enhancing their competitiveness both locally and globally. Employee-Centredness at the Core of Digital Transformation

The diagram illustrates the DILEC project framework. The research focuses on three key areas: inclusive leadership, inclusive career path development, and knowledge transfer from experienced to younger employees. Especially in hybrid work, digital and AI-assisted practices play a central role. At the heart of everything are the employees, whose work and practices significantly impact company productivity and workplace well-being. By developing employee-centeredness, digitalization, and AI utilization, companies build better productivity, stronger impact, and sustainable well-being. International comparisons with Japan and Sweden provide additional perspectives that strengthen the competitiveness of Finnish working life.

From research to practice

Working life is rapidly changing due to digitalization and hybrid work. Companies need practices that focus not only on technology but also on employee experience and well-being. Dilec responds to this need both through research and by bringing practical solutions to Finnish companies. The project combines research knowledge, business collaboration, and international insights into models that support employees and organizations in digital transformation.
